Valga – Valka twin city centre
Raiņa iela 2B, Valka, Valkas novads

The Valga-Valka Twin City Centre project aims to unite the Estonian city of Valga and the Latvian city of Valka – creating a common cross-border urban space. A pedestrian street has been built between the central squares of the two cities, connecting the churches of Valga and Valka. A new pedestrian bridge across the Varžupīte River, which is also a new border crossing point, was built to facilitate border crossing in the new central area. A swing has been installed in the middle of the new bridge, which will allow people to swing in Latvia and Estonia at the same time. A green area and paths connect the Valka town square with the Pedele recreation area further away.
