School excursion to Cesis

This excursion is ideal for students arriving by train to explore the history and technology of Cesis. The programme gives pupils the opportunity to take part in hands-on activities that develop their understanding of history, science and healthy living.

Programme plan:

Arrival in Cesis:
Pupils are met by a guide at Cesis station.

Guided by a guide in Cēsis:
Technology Workshops.

Lunch in Cesis:
Healthy lunches in local cafes.

Visit to a medieval castle:
Learn how children lived in the Middle Ages. Each student writes down how they imagine life in the Middle Ages and compares it with the knowledge they have acquired.

Exploring the Old Town of Cesis:
Orientation exercise through medieval streets, churches and historical attractions.

Tasting of healthy crisp (optional extra):
Students write feedback and evaluate the crisps for taste and healthiness.

Final quiz:
At the end of the tour, students take part in a quiz that tests their knowledge of history, technology and Cēsis.
