Two exhibition halls offer unique art exhibitions. The World Latvian Art Centre collects and exhibits works of art created by Latvians in exile – Latvian artists who went into exile as a result of the Second World War and the younger generation living abroad. The exhibitions are regularly renewed and every six months there is an opportunity to discover new artists and artworks – paintings, watercolours, sculptures, installations, etc.
From 23.04. – 20.06., the World Latvian Art Centre will host the exhibition “Landscape of Exile”. Lelde Klamīte, Curator of Exhibitions at the Art Centre: “The exhibition can be seen as documenting the geographical dispersion of Latvian emigration after the war. The artists represent different degrees of abstract imagination. From Arctic icebergs to Australian forests, the landscapes of the diaspora encompass realistic representations and a free expressionist approach.”
