The 9 km-long Nature Processes Trail offers a journey through five ecosystems – lake, meadow, forest, marsh and dunes. Each of the stops tells how the natural landscape is shaped by different natural processes such as water, fire, wind, large herbivores.

Along the way, you can also visit the Vītolnieki Fishermen Farm and Mikjāņi Farm of the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia.

Best time to visit: all year round. In spring and autumn after Ķoņciems up to the bog platform the trail can be wet.

Coverage: 5.1 km along dirt road; boardwalk and viewing platform in the marsh; 4 km along the sea (from dune stand, return).

!!! The trail is not suitable for wheelchair users and is not equipped with handrails.

The trail was renovated in 2015 with the support of the Latvian Environmental Protection Fund.
