The first Pape lighthouse was built in 1887 and was called Robeži Lighthouse. The current lighthouse, a white iron cylinder supported by a riveted iron lattice structure, was built in 1910. Its height is 21 m above sea level. The Pape lighthouse is currently the closest to the sea of all the lighthouses in Latvia.
There is a well-maintained car park with rest areas at the lighthouse.
