The nature trail invites you to a 32 km-long challenge around Lake Pape. The trail starts at the Pape Canal in the village of Pape, where there is a description of the trail route with a map.

Along the way you will see various sights: a bird observation tower, a bird hide, Paurupe and Līgupe, a beaver pond, a floodplain meadow, wild horses and taurs, a sacred grove and the Lake School burial mound, Pape polder meadows, alder, pine and fir forests, an ornithological station and Pape Lighthouse.

The nature trail is best followed on foot or by mountain bike, as some parts of the trail in the D and N parts of the lake are wet in spring and autumn.

Best time to visit: from May to October.
