Akmeņupīte is a tributary of the Ogre River on the right bank, it has a large relative drop – in a 70 m long stretch it drops about 10 m. The river bed is full of large mossy stones with a rich moss flora.

The Devil is said to have carried stones in a sack to make a mill on the hill, but was startled by the midnight crow of a rooster and the sack of stones fell open; now, in spring, floodwater runs over the stones like a mill.

2000Geological and geomorphological natural monument established in 2000. Please note that the route is in a micro-reserve and there are large stands of hazel trees, so do not go off the beaten track. The hazel is a protected plant in Latvia and is listed in the Latvian Red Book under category III.

Attention! You have to walk a little more than 2 km to the rapids. Leave your car in the car park, then follow the dirt road, which later turns into a footpath with signs. Route: https://out.ac/oqqCn
