Poetry Days in Latvia – Museums, Exhibitions, and Literary Sites to Visit

Poetry Days 2026 is taking place this year under the motto “Poetry Sings!”, inviting people not only to read poetry, but also to listen to it, experience it, and discover it in various settings.
In addition to Poetry Days events, it’s also worth visiting museums, memorial homes, and literary exhibitions dedicated to Latvian poets and writers. In many places, special poetry readings, gatherings, and themed activities take place specifically in September, but the exhibitions themselves can be visited at other times as well.
Listed below are places in various regions of Latvia where you can learn about the lives and works of Rainis, Aspazija, Bronislava Martuževa, Fričs Bārda, Kārlis Skalbe, Eduards Veidenbaums, and other figures in Latvian literature.
